The view is much the same in 2015,
there still is a garden house at the site.

Mohonk Mountain House uses the name "garden house"
instead of "gazebo."

Hope you're coping OK, Mark.
Boston has really been having a hard time.

maybe the man is looking down into the valley?

I was at this spot Sunday, but did not take a photo.

Thanks, Dan.

My sources tell me that the Lookout is ranked #3 of New Paltz's various attractions. One website calls the Lookout "Shang-gra-la on the mountain." They got bragging rights, Jim.

Still looks like a fabulous place but with all that snow I'm not sure you could climb those steps and see the view
Trish Mayo 2015-02-26 07:29:49
a fabulous place with dozens of these garden houses.

Interesting, Alan,
what are New Paltz's #1 & #2 attractions?

Mohonk Mountain House was started by Quakers,
but the town of New Paltz was founded by Huguenots.
The Huguenots, French-speaking Calvinist Protestants
fled religious persecution and established a colony in New Paltz.
In 1677 leaders, collectively known as the Patentees, purchased 40,000 acres of land from the Esopus Indians.
